Lebanese Passport
To apply for a new Lebanese passport at the Consulate General of Lebanon, please note the following:
- The applicant must submit the application form and collect the passport in person upon issuance.
- There are two types of passports (electronic and biometric), each with a different application procedure.
- The applicant may choose between two delivery options for the issued passport: diplomatic pouch or DHL Fast Track (refer to the processing time below).
- Fees must be paid in cash (exact amount preferred) .

- In the case of divorce or death, the legal guardian must present valid tutelage documentation issued in Lebanon.
- Either parent may collect the passport once issued.

The Processing Time for issuing a new passport is as follows:
- Diplomatic Pouch:

Processing time: 6 to 8 weeks
- Status: Applicants can check the status of their application on our website. Please ensure the passport has arrived at the Consulate before coming to collect it. Bring your current passport and the receipt issued at the time of application.
- DHL Fast Track:

Processing time: 3 to 4 weeks

Application: Applicants may request the DHL Fast Track service by visiting http://fasttracklb.dhl.com. An additional fee of $143.03 is payable online. The DHL document (11 pages) must be submitted along with the passport application at the Consulate.

Status: Applicants may collect their passport one day after receiving a confirmation email from DHL, bringing their current passport and the original receipt issued at the time of application.
1. New Passport
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai has permanently ceased accepting applications for new passports of the electronic type (2003 model – old navy blue) as of June 1, 2023, in accordance with the directive issued by the General Directorate of Lebanese General Security.
Accordingly, citizens who hold an electronic passport and have not previously obtained a biometric passport must apply for one directly through the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.
Exceptions: Only children under the age of 15 and adults over the age of 60 are exempt from this requirement and may apply for a biometric passport for the first time at the Consulate.
2. Renewal of Passport
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai will manually renew electronic passports for a period of one or two years only, provided that the applicant signs an acknowledgment stating their commitment to obtain a new biometric passport from Lebanon within the renewal period.
Required documents
- Application form. (completed online and printed, or filled manually at the consulate)
- Current passport + 2 photocopies
- 2 photocopies of valid UAE residence
- A new Lebanese ID or an individual civil extract (ikhraj qayd fardi) issued within the last 10 years and bearing a photo, plus 2 copies of the document.
- 2 recent passport-sized photos with a white background, measuring 3.5 × 4.3 cm
- Signing a commitment to obtain a new biometric passport exclusively from Lebanon during this year.
- For minors * the presence of both parents is mandatory
Fees
1 year: 225 AED in cash.
2 years: 450 AED in cash
Timeline of Issuance: 1 working day
A Lebanese citizen may apply for a new biometric passport with a validity of 10 years exclusively for adults and 5 years exclusively for minors.
Note: Biometric passports cannot be renewed manually. An application for a new passport must be submitted.

Biometric passport validity and fees
Five-year validity: for minors (under 18); Fees 1105 AED in cash.
Ten-year validity: for adults (over 18); Fees
2210 AED in cash.
Upon the loss of a Lebanese passport, a citizen may apply for either: a new passport (under specific conditions), or a Laissez-passer to return directly to Lebanon.
Notes:
- A new passport may be issued only if the lost passport was biometric, or if the applicant is under the age of 15 or over the age of 60, regardless of the passport type.
- If the lost passport is of the old electronic type, the applicant must apply for a Laissez-passer and obtain a new biometric passport directly from the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.

- Original police report + 1 copy
- 2 photocopies of valid UAE residence
- Written statement from the applicant explaining how the passport was lost, or from the custodian if the applicant is a minor*.
- 2 copies of the lost passport (if available).
- A new Lebanese ID or an individual civil extract (ikhraj qayd fardi) issued within the last 10 years and bearing a photo, plus 2 copies of the document.

Biometric passport validity and fees

In case of Lebanese passport damage, a Lebanese can apply for either a new passport or a Laissez-passer to return directly to Lebanon.
NOTE
- It is possible to apply for a new passport only if the lost one is a biometric passport, or if the applicant is under the age of 15 or over the age of 60 regardless of the passport's type.
- If it is from the old electronic type, the applicant must obtain a Laissez-passer to return to Lebanon and apply directly for a new passport in the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.

- Damaged passport, if available (to be sent with the application to Lebanon), and 2 photocopies
- 2 photocopies of valid UAE residence
- Written statement from the applicant explaining how the passport was damaged, or from the custodian if the applicant is a minor*.
- A new Lebanese ID or an individual civil extract (ikhraj qayd fardi) issued within the last 10 years and bearing a photo, plus 2 copies of the document.
- 2 recent passport-sized photographs with a white background, each measuring 3.5 × 4.3 cm
- DHL Fast Track Service document (11 pages) — if opting for this service, after completing the procedure at http://fasttracklb.dhl.com (optional)
Biometric passport validity and fees:
- Five-year validity: for minors (under 18); Fees 1105 AED in cash.
- Ten-year validity: for adults (over 18); Fees 2210 AED in cash.
To apply for a passport for a newborn, the birth must first be registered through this consulate, and an individual civil extract for the child must be obtained (please refer to the Civil Status Section – Birth Registration). Both parents must be present in person to submit the application; however, either parent may collect the passport once it is issued.

- An individual civil extract (ikhraj qayd fardi) bearing a photo, plus 2 copies of the document.

Biometric passport validity and fees
Five-year validity: Fees 1105 AED in cash.
In case your Lebanese passport is lost or damaged, you can request an emergency travel document from this consulate.
In the event that a Lebanese passport is lost or damaged, and the applicant intends to return directly to Lebanon, they may submit a request for a Laissez-passer to facilitate their return.

In case of a damaged passport
- Damaged passport with 2 copies (if possible)
- A written statement from the applicant explaining how the passport was damaged, or from a custodian if the applicant is a minor * .
