Lebanese Passports
To Apply for a new Lebanese passport at the Consulate General of Lebanon
kindly note the following:
- Applicant must submit the application and collect the passport upon issuance in person.
- There are 2 types of passport (electronic & biometric), each requires different procedure.
- Applicant can choose either the diplomatic pouch or DHL fast track option for new passport issuance (check the timeline of issuance below).
- Fees must be paid in cash.
- For Minors (under 18 years old):

- Presence of both parents is mandatory or a power of attorney in this regard should be presented by one of them.
- In case of divorce or death, the legal guardian should present the valid tutelage in Lebanon.
- One of the parents can collect the passport
A- New Passport :
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai has permanently stopped receiving applications for new passports of the electronic type 2003 (the old navy blue type) as of 1/6/2023, based on the circular of the General Directorate of Lebanese General Security.
Therefore, citizens who hold an electronic passport and have not previously obtained a biometric passport must apply for a biometric passport from the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.
Only children under the age of sixteen (16) and and those over the age of sixty (60) are exempted from this procedure, as they can apply for a biometric passport for the first time at this consulate.
Bio-metric passport validity and fees:
- Five years: for minors only (under 18); Fees 1105 AED in cash)
- Ten years: for adults only (above 18); Fees 2210 AED in cash)
B- Renewal of Passport
The Consulate General of Lebanon in Dubai will renew manually the electronic passport for one year only, provided that the applicant signs an acknowledgement mentioning that he will obtain a new biometric passport from Lebanon within this year.
Required documents
- Application form. (filled out either online and printed out or manually at the consulate)
- The current passport and 2 copies of it
- 2 copies of the UAE residence
- A new Lebanese ID or an individual civil extract issued less than ten years ago with a photo, and 2 copies of the document
- 2 recent passport photos with white background measuring 3.5×4.3.

Fees
225 AED in cash.
A Lebanese can apply for a new biometric passport for ten years exclusively for adults and five years exclusively for minors.
Note: This passport cannot be renewed manually.
Required documents
- Application form. (filled out either online and printed out or manually at the consulate)
- The current passport and 2 copies of it
- 2 copies of the UAE residence
- A new Lebanese ID or an individual civil extract issued less than ten years ago with a photo, and 2 copies of the document
- 2 recent passport photos with white background measuring 3.5×4.3
- DHL Fast Track Service document (11 pages) after completing the procedure on (optional)

Upon the loss of the Lebanese passport, a Lebanese can apply for either a new passport or a Laissez-passer to return directly to Lebanon.
NOTE
- It is possible to apply for a new passport only if the lost one is a biometric passport, or if the applicant is under the age of 16 or over the age of 60 regardless of the passport's type.
- If it is from the old electronic type, the applicant must obtain a Laissez-passer to return to Lebanon and apply directly for a new passport in the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.

- Application form (filled out either online and printed out or manually at the consulate)
- The original police report with 1 copy.
- A
written statement from the applicant explaining how
the passport was lost,
or from a custodian if the applicant is aminor. *
- Presence of both parents is mandatory or a power of attorney in this regard should be presented by one of them. - In case of divorce or death, the legal guardian should present the valid tutelage in Lebanon. - One of the parents can collect the document.
- 2 copies of the lost passport (if available).
- 2 copies of an individual civil extract issued less than ten years ago or a Lebanese ID.
- 2 recent passport photos with white background measuring 3.5×4.3.
- DHL Fast Track Service document (11 pages) after completing the procedure on their website . (optional)
Biometric passport validity and fees

In case of Lebanese passport damage, a Lebanese can apply for either a new passport or a Laissez-passer
NOTE
- It is possible to apply for a new passport only if the lost one is a biometric passport, or if the applicant is under the age of 16 or over the age of 60 regardless of the passport's type.
- If it is from the old electronic type, the applicant must obtain a Laissez-passer to return to Lebanon and apply directly for a new passport in the General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon.

- Damaged passport if possible (to be sent with the application to Lebanon) and 2 copies of it.

or from a custodian if the applicant is aminor. *
- Presence of both parents is mandatory or a power of attorney in this regard should be presented by one of them. - In case of divorce or death, the legal guardian should present the valid tutelage in Lebanon. - One of the parents can collect the document.
- 2 copies of an individual civil extract issued less than ten years ago or a Lebanese ID
- 2 recent passport photos with white background measuring 3.5×4.3.
- DHL Fast Track Service document (11 pages) after completing the procedure on their website . (optional)

To apply for a passport for a newborn, the birth registration process must be completed through this consulate and an individual civil extract for the child must be obtained (please check the civil Status Section - Birth Registration), both parents must be present in person to apply, while one of them can collect the passport upon issuance.

- An original individual civil extract with a picture of the new-born & 2 copies.
- Both parents passports with 2 photos of each.
- Two passport photos of the new-born with a white background
Biometric passport validity and fees
Five years; Fees 1105 AED in cash
Upon loss or damage of the Lebanese passport, and if the applicant wishes to return directly to Lebanon, they can apply for a Laissez-passer to facilitate their return.

- Application form (filled out either online and printed out or manually at the consulate)
- 2 copies of an individual civil extract issued less than ten years ago or a Lebanese ID.
- 2 recent passport photos with white background measuring 3.5×4.3.
- In addition to the documents mentioned below according to the situation
- The original police report with 1 copy.

The timeline of Laissez-passer issuance

The timeline for issuing a new passport will be according to the following:
- Diplomatic Pouch
- 6 to 8 weeks
- Status: The applicant can follow up on the status of his application on our website in order to ensure that his passport reached this consulate before coming to collect it, bringing his current passport and the receipt received at the time of application
- Diplomatic Pouch
- 3 to 4 weeks
- the applicant can apply for DHL fast track service by visiting the website http://fasttracklb.dhl.com with an additional fee of $ 113.79 paid online and submit DHL document (11 pages) along with the passport application at the consulate.
- Status: the applicant can come to collect his passport two days after receiving an email from DHL, along with his current passport and the receipt received at the time of application.
